Even as the recession has been taking a hold of the economy and sending the prices of all commodities shooting up one can see that a number of auto insurance companies are offering short term car insurance policies at extremely low prices. Each insurer is trying to undercut the other in order to gain a bigger share of the market.
Such is the case that people are now looking to contact different insurance companies, at the same time, whenever they require short term car insurance in the form of a daily car insurance policy. People have learned to negotiate hard with insurers with the expectation that they will be able to get the company lower prices even further. However, one must stop to consider for a moment as to how low insurance companies will be willing to go in order to sell auto insurance.
One does understand that insurance companies are in the business of covering a risk in return for a premium. They are also in the business to make some profits and will not try to sell short term car insurance policies at unbelievable prices. When insurance companies reach a point of no return, they would be trying to cut down on the kind of coverage that is being offered in order to stay afloat in a competitive industry. This can be called as a natural phenomenon with every business and insurance companies are no different in this matter. The lower they go on the price of a daily car insurance policy, the lower will be the coverage offered. People can console themselves that they have managed to find an insurance company that is offering them low prices on such policies. However, they will never be able to conclude that they have purchased the best policy available in the market as the insurer would have ensured that their interests are also taking care of.
