Fireplace doors are very important part of each fireplace even though it have not been always so. In the past it was very common that people used fireplace without any doors or any other protection.
Many wooden houses have burned to ashes and many people have died until we realized that fireplace doors are really necessary accessory to each type of fireplace. Market with fireplace doors has been evolving very rapidly in the 20th century. Nowadays you can have you fireplace doors made from many materials. Very common are glass fireplace doors which can be later divided into ceramic and tempered glass. Both are pretty resistant to heat with that difference that ceramic also let heat go through the glass. It means that they are more used for heating purposes. Disadvantage of glass fireplace doors is that they required cleaning quite often. You can also buy brass fireplace doors which have several benefits. Firstly, they are really beautiful and suit to almost each type of decoration. Moreover, brass is non-corrosive material and resistant to heat as well. The only con of this type seems to be that it needs to be polished regularly. On the other hand it is not difficult to clean it. Wrought iron fireplace doors are very common too. People like that they last for many years with very low maintenance needed. There are made in many styles so they can fit into your existing decor very easily. Ceramic fireplace doors have gone through great evolution and they are one of the most used these days. They are resistant to heat but are able to withstand temperature changes at the same time which is very beneficial mainly for an outdoor fireplace. Truly, it depends just on customer requirements, wishes and purposes. I believe that there are many fireplace doors ready to meet your conditions.
