Young girls love being creative not to mention fashionable and what better way than to add their own sense of style to their school notebooks. Girls often keep diaries and like to decorate them to match their personality. Some adults keep diaries too so if you have a friend that does, a nicely decorated cover would make an excellent gift.
Books can be decorated using a variety of different beads but seed beads are the norm. You can buy strings of glass seed beads very cheaply in your local craft store or online if you prefer. They are available in a range of different colors and can be used to create different designs on the front of notebooks. You can glue them on so the kids don’t need to worry about using needles. If they don’t want to decorate books or perhaps are too old for this to be seen as cute, they could make their own jewelry.
Beaded necklaces, anklets and bracelets are all very trendy and are easy to make. You can choose from a variety of different beads with gemstones being particularly popular. They will enjoy making them as gifts for their friends too. Birthstone necklaces are very popular with Amber being coveted as it is said to bring good luck, beauty and attract love and friendship. Of course Amber isn’t really a gemstone as it isn’t a stone but the fossilized remains of a tree.
Kids will get arts and crafts ideas in school but if you are lacking inspiration you can find plenty of books at your local store or library. You will amazed at how many different crafts there are.
