A white kitchen can be a little bit cold and instantly feels very modern. However, you can really turn this into more of a farmhouse kind of feeling.
This is closely related to country kitchen decor but is a little bit more elegant and sophisticated.
One thing that you can really bring in to liven up the space is going to be natural wood tones. You don’t have to have entire banks of wood cabinetry. This can be very expensive. Instead, you may just want to bring in a few wooden bar stools instead of the polished oak that is so popular. You could go for more of a rustic saddle style barstool. Of course the wood still needs to be finished enough so that it doesn’t give you slivers. You might even be able to panel one of your walls with old barn wood. Then just keep the rest of the kitchen in a bright white finish. It is important when you do go with this kind of tone that you keep it away from any grease or water.
Another really important consideration is going to be trying inspirations drawn from natural colors if you want more classic kitchens or farmhouse kitchens. This could just be sunflower artwork. You could also just bring in beautiful ceramic pitchers in bright turquoise or sky blue kinds of colors. This can be the pop of color in your room. However, unlike the modern kind of design style you don’t want this to be too harsh such as an orange or red. It should still be a little bit soothing.
We are also seeing a lot of mason jar inspired accessories. First, you can create these yourself or you might already have a few of these Mason jars in your attic or your basement. We’re also even seeing this in light fixtures for a totally different take on your traditional glass shade.
