For the pet owner who is looking to pamper their pet, the pet drinking fountain is a great item to supply running drinking water for a cat or dog. Both cats and dogs love to drink from a running water stream and if you’ve ever watched them do it, you’ve seen how much they enjoy the opportunity to do so. One of the popular brands on the market today is the Drinkwell pet fountain. Drinkwell has four models available and by following the guidelines below, you should be able to find the one that best fits the needs of you and your pet.
The oldest of the Drinkwell models is called the Original fountain. It’s designed for cats and small dogs and is the cheapest of the fountain models. Part of this is because it is the oldest model, but another reason for the price is that it is the smallest of the fountains by Drinkwell. With a water capacity of fifty ounces, it can go a day or two without having to be refilled if you have one pet.
For owners of multiple small pets, the Drinkwell Platinum or 360 models are the best bet. The Platinum model allows for one pet to drink at a time, but it holds a lot more water than the Original fountain, 168 ounces to be exact. This is more than three times the amount of water that the Original holds. For multiple water spouts, the 360 model is the best choice. Unlike the other fountains, this one can have more than one waterfall running at a time, which gives each pet the opportunity to drink at one time.
For owners of medium to large sized dogs, the only option available at the moment is the Drinkwell Big Dog fountain. This one was made with big dogs in mind as it’s a much larger fountain that holds 2.25 gallons of water when filled. If you’ve got a big dog, this is the best choice for you as your pet will have difficulties drinking from the other models.
With these guidelines in mind, you should be able to pick the fountain that best fits your needs.
