Serving trays are one way to set out a buffet or even a meal. The traditional use of serving trays is during holiday dinners and all the dinner pieces are glass, crystal or some kind of ornamental and fancy version used only for special occasions.
This is not the case anymore. With plastic ware came plastic serving trays too. They are versatile, not as breakable and can be used throughout the year without feeling awkward or like all the manners have to come out of the closet with each meal.
A sturdy plastic tray can be a great way to carry the entree from the kitchen to the dining room for each meal. It saves on trips and makes it easier on the cook. Not only that but they come in a lot of colors and designs so the color choice can match any meal. They come in sectioned trays that make it easy to serve a healthy finger food luncheon to the family or a get together with friends.
Another use for plastic food trays is kids parties at school, girl scout events, sports, picnics and more. They come in so handy for parents to be able to contribute dishes at these events without having to worry about the good serving dishes being lost at someones home or other. Plus, when a lot of moms get together at a school party it is nice to know that if the class gets rowdy and something gets knocked off, it will probably not break.
Gifts of baked goods is a great way to use these kinds of trays too. When giving family members a specialty holiday food it is always good if you can give it wrapped on a pretty dish. Plastic is a great way to decorate for any occasion and give without having to request the item back at a later date. And who knows, they may use it for the same thing later.
