There are many people who have never heard of a flat pearl ring. A flat pearl ring is made with Mother of Pearl, instead of regular pearls. Mother of Pearl looks great with any color metal and this is a rare property for any type of stone or gem. The milky white with the flashes of rainbow when it hits the Mother of Pearl just right, making it a very beautiful selection.
When you are shopping for Mother of Pearl rings the most important thing to check first is the color of the stone. You want a stone that has as much color as possible. These are a bit more expensive but well worth the money. Many of these stones are dyed in other colors for variety and this process is accomplished without losing any of its luminosity.
There are many of these rings available in jewelry stores and the internet is simply loaded with them. The good thing about the internet is that you can buy from regional craftsmen in some of the South Seas where the best pearls are found. If you use this process however you should make sure you are dealing with reputable dealers. There are plenty of review sites online and you can use a search engine to search for reviews of each vendor. If the vendor has no reviews, do not deal with them. Knowing as much about pearls in general and Mother of Pearl in particular is very important also so that not only will you get real pearls but you will be able to tell the difference between one pearl and the other.
