There are many sporting activities that are considered to be rough, tough, and demanding. Just a few that come to mind include the marathon, football, and basketball. Of all the truly demanding sports out there though, there are few that can even come close to the rigorous demands of the triathlon event. It’s no mystery why. After all, the triathlon event is really the combination of three demanding activities… biking, swimming, and running. In order to survive, let alone win one of these activities, one must be in top physical shape. One great thing about the triathlon event, however, is that you only need to purchase one inexpensive piece of equipment to participate…. the tri suit.
Tri suits are form fitting and skin tight by design. They actually look very much like rash vests but are really very different garments. Rash vests for men and women were designed specifically for surfers to protect their bodies from chafing and from the sun’s dangerous UV rays, although they are now used by other water sports enthusiasts. Tri suits for men and women, on the other hand, were created specifically to withstand the abuse triathlon athletes put them through. Because they are made from Lycra, a tough but comfortable material, they can definitely stand up to the abuse without becoming damaged.
Tri suits are very easy to keep clean since they are machine washable. Additionally, they dry very quickly too. These garments are very affordable to purchase so you don’t have to worry about breaking the bank when you get one. A quality tri suit can be purchased for around $80.
Most people who purchase tri suits don’t get them from traditional retailers. This is because so few people participate in the demanding sport that most stores simply don’t carry them. To purchase a tri suit you will probably need to order from an online retailer.
The tri suit is definitely the ideal garment for the triathlon event. An investment in one of these durable garments means that you will have a tough suit that will last for a long time before needing to be replaced.
