1. I have it and you don’t.
There you have it. A light hearted but perhaps accurate listing of why a woman loves their Tahitian pearl pendant.
Seriously, there is much to love about Tahitian pearls.
They are realativley rare. Farmed only in the pristine waters and lagoons scattered around French Polynesia (strictly speaking not Tahitia) and grown in the black lipped oyster the Pinctada margaritifera to be exact.
These oysters take at least two years to produce a pearl and even then it may not be suitable for market. It must meet certain strict standards to be made into a stunning pendant or other pieces of fine jewelry.
The nacre must be thick enough – the nacre is the actual material that a pearl is made of. If it is not thick enough, the pearl will lose its luster in just a few years.
The color must be clear and deep. Its hue must be even. Both color and hue must be consistant to make the grade. This is the first quality that purchasers look at when deciding to buy. The color can range from black (very rare) to champaigne to a very good link pearl with pink overtones.
Luster is what gives the pearl is shinyness, its brilliance. If you can see your reflection in the pearl, you are looking at a high grade pearl that is worth purchasing for your collection.
No question about it, you have the pearl pendant and he gets one of the best watches for men – designer not doubt.
