Let everyone know you are excited about your upcoming nuptials! Mostly, you want them to know that you are thrilled to be inviting them (eventually with the formal invitations) to your wedding celebration. To do so, and to get your guests dripping with anticipation, send them funny save the date magnets as your wedding announcement. You may be deciding between wedding magnets and cards. If so, I highly recommend you go with save the date magnets as they are going to give you the most bang for your buck.
If you were to receive a card in the mail asking you to save the date, you would write the information down on your wall calendar or input the data into your scheduler. Then the card would rapidly be placed in the trash. If you end up getting a save the date magnet, you will still do all of the above, minus the trashing of it though. You would put the item on your refrigerator! There it would stay until the wedding day arrived…or it may even stay up way past the wedding date, especially if you used funny save the date magnets.
With humor, you will be making your invited guests expect a good time will be had at your reception. If you want your wedding to be fun, you can prime the pump by planting a seed in your guests minds by making them laugh at your save the date. You will get reactions from them, and their statements will be more along the lines of, “Wow, it looks like your wedding is going to be a blast!” How would they know that as you haven’t let them know any of the details yet? They will just feel it, because you set them up with your funny save the dates.
So get to shopping or creating your funny save the date design so you can get ready to rock your reception.
