We Need To Prepare For A Japan Earthquake (Or Similar)

June 3, 2011.

I’m watching a television show right now about the Japan Earthquake. What a disaster, and it came so quickly.

We don’t really live in an earthquake zone, but we do live in a tornado and hurricane area. This only heightens the importance of being prepared for such an event.

In fact, we had a tornado alert only last month. We were fortunate in that we happened to have the television on at the time and were able to scramble downstairs…near the bathroom…in case we needed to jump inside to be safe. This is rather scary when you think about it. What if we had been asleep at the time, or not had the television on? There must be a way to prepare for such an event

Well, I have found it. The Midland Consumer Radio WR-120B NOAA Weather Alert is a great deal and the people who own it are already raving about it. What I liked about this radio the most is that you can set it to sound an alert only if there is a weather emergency that is threatening your specific area. In this way, you will not be bothered by it…only when needed… If you live in a hurricane or tornado area like we do this really is a “must” to have.  You need to be prepared for a Japan Earthquake (or similar)…especially if you have a little girl like we do.

Speaking of this little girl, she loves the organic blackberries that I picked up for her the other day. The only problem is…they make quite the mess. They are everywhere.

If you would like to read more about the exploits of our little Katie, we would love to hear from you. We have a blog at baby comments where I write a post every day, and have since she was born a year and a half ago. Come see the exploits of Katie and see how her dad is trying to cope with the experience of being a new father. See you there!
